St Quentin to Laon
Our day started cool and cloudy, gloves and tights. The GPS had us on the road quickly and not getting lost on the way out of town is a good start to the day. Folowing the Tour de France route, there are still signs of the huge party; paintings on doors of stores and a very interesting round about center art.
We stopped for lunch at a great little restraunt for lunch and had the most spectacular lunch we have had since yesterday. My high point of the lunch was baked beans that had a cream sauce. Who would have thought? The best baked beans I have ever had, cream, onion and bacon. Perfect. See the food post for photos.
Our afternoon ride was on a high speed auto road. You name it, it passed us at speed.
The finish of todays ride was a 500 foot climb in to town.
Our tail wind was with us all day. It warmed to around 60 degrees. We finished the ride, got in and it started raining out. Just in time.
I hope you enjoy todays photos.
